Quotations

  1. Prices are valid for 30 days from date of quotation.
  2. We require a 50% deposit of the cost of your flooring materials upfront.
  3. The balance is payable on completion of the job.

Your Preparation

Kitchen Appliances

Please remove kitchen appliances. For LVT in kitchens we need the appliances out – we cannot remove them or plumb/ put them back in.

Furniture

Please clear furniture. We need the area we are flooring to be as clear as possible of furniture (unless previously discussed with us beforehand). We will have to charge if we have to move lots of furniture.

Important Information About Your Flooring Installation

Sub Floor Condition

Before we can lay vinyl/LVT flooring on a screeded floor the sub floor needs to be in a certain condition – if once the old flooring has been uplifted and if your sub floor is not in decent enough condition additional screed or work may be needed and additional charges may apply.

Doors

We cannot cut doors. Some doors may need cutting after your new carpet/flooring has been laid if it is of a thicker quality – you will need a carpenter for this and we have the number of a few local carpenters and there will be an additional charge for this made payable to the carpenter at approximately £25 per door (fire doors may be more).

Kitchen Plinths

We cannot cut kitchen plinths. Kitchen plinths will need removing and may need trimming after LVT is laid. We cannot do this – you’ll need a carpenter.

Skirting Boards

We quote for a smooth floor (not a level floor) to fit the LVT onto.
If you have different floor heights you may need to remove your skirting boards for us to fit the LVT then get them put back on once job completed. We cannot do this – you’ll need a carpenter and they’ll charge you direct to do this.

If your old floor was a thick wood or laminate and new LVT is going down it is possible there will be a gap in between skirting board and new LVT. We can advise if this is going to occur and best solution is to get your skirting boards lowered by a carpenter as mastic cannot cover such a huge gap. The carpenter will charge you direct for this.

New builds – builders put a mastic beading around the rooms in new builds. This is so the new build passes its air flow tests. We need to remove the mastic before new carpet or LVT is laid. This can leave a mark on the skirting boards and you may need to repaint them once your flooring has been fitted. We cannot re paint them for you.

Protecting Your Home During Installation

We endeavour to be as careful as possible when bringing carpet and other large materials into your home but on rare occasions home decor may be marked or scuffed during the fitting process. With newly painted walls, bannisters and skirting boards being especially vulnerable, please ensure these have been rubbed down with sand paper before being painted as if the carpet catches them if can pull the paint off – we are not liable for any paint chipping / scuff marks.

Care is taken to keep dust at a minimum during your flooring works but we cannot guarantee a completely dust free environment.

LVT

Please be aware that on our LVT ranges there can be variations in colour between planks as indicated on the suppliers website.
